    • 1959 Mini .Objective “to design a fuel efficient inexpensive four seat vehicle using an existing engine to regain market share for BMC. “ Triumph of form following function prompted by Suez fuel crisis.  Issigonis problem solved by designing on inside out methodology. Fundamental transverse engine, gearbox I sump and small wheel in each corner. Measurements 10’longx 4’widex4’high approx. The body as essential monococque body shell was no more than a casing to protect passengers and components. Noting included that could not be justified either by function or cost.
